This policy explains what ZeroDrunk (app.zerodrunk.site and the ZeroDrunk apps) collects, why, and the choices you have. ZeroDrunk is run by an independent operator based in Malta, who is the data controller. ZeroDrunk is a self-help tracking tool for people who want to drink less or stop. It is not a medical service.
What we collect
- Account data: your email address, an optional name, your password (stored only as a one-way hash), language, country, currency and time zone.
- Health-related data you choose to enter: daily check-ins (whether you drank, standard drinks, mood, craving level, triggers and a private note), your goal and typical drinking, your reasons, craving sessions and self-check answers. Drinking information is health data, so we only process it with your explicit consent, which you give during setup.
- Billing data: if you buy ZeroDrunk Plus, Stripe processes the payment as merchant of record. We receive a customer and subscription reference, never your card details.
- Technical data: the platform you use (web, iOS, Android) and standard server logs. Logs never contain your check-ins, notes or self-check answers.
How we protect it
- Notes, triggers and reasons are encrypted at rest with a key held only by the server.
- Data is stored in the European Union (Neon PostgreSQL, Frankfurt region) and served from Vercel’s Frankfurt region.
- We do not run advertising, do not sell data and do not send drinking data to analytics or advertising providers.
Why we use it
- To provide the service you asked for: storing your check-ins and showing your progress, insights and milestones (contract and explicit consent).
- To send sign-in links and service emails you request (contract).
- To handle subscriptions and meet tax and accounting duties (legal obligation).
Your rights
- Export everything at any time from Settings, as a JSON file.
- Delete your account and all its data at any time from Settings. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
- Withdraw consent by deleting your account; you can also ask us to correct or restrict your data.
- You can complain to your local data protection authority.
Processors
Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), Stripe (payments, only if you subscribe) and CampaignOS (transactional email delivery). Each processes data only on our instructions.
Age
ZeroDrunk is for adults aged 18 or over, or the legal drinking age where you live if that is higher.
